Recently, I was helping my mother go through items stored in her basement for many years. Her husband of  54 years had passed away and she was ready to let go of some things. While in that basement, I stumbled on a box of car magzines that I instantly recognized even though I had not seen them in over 45 years. Wow, the memories flooded in as I browsed through about 75  Car and Driver, Hot Rod,  Motor Trend and Car Crafters. They were all in very good condition but perhaps a little musty.  I know I had more , but this was great ! I thought they were long gone.

As I turned the pages , I found Corvair related ads and articles and I have started to scan them and post them here for all to enjoy.

But perhaps of all the things I found, the one that  so far has been the most fun, is the 1964 J.C. Whitney catalog with three pages dedicated to Corvair after market parts and custom items.  I bought some of those items from that or a similar catalog. Enjoy looking at what things  cost back then. But don't forget what a new Corvair cost back then either. Helps to keep it in perspective. Took me a whole week of work to pay for that ram induction.

So, hope you have fun with this and that it brings back memories if you were around in those days .

Please let me know what you think on the "guest " page.

Notice that they did not show mirror(s) or dual exhaust in this ad.  Also , they used the 140 badging -not the turbocharged emblem -yet this ad says turbocharged. Guess they didn't want you distracted from the overall great new design !
